I make all you need to play LOTR CCG into MWS.
But i can't tested yet and i search some people
to beta test.
I play the LOTR ccg only with the first block, and i search the
card list of all the preconstructed deck.
I don't know very much the rules of LOTR but i think its possible to
make good party with MWS.
if anyone have a register version of MWS i can provide him
the spoiler list of all extension to create some custom set.
see you soon in mwsplay !

download the file at:
http://membres.lycos.fr/ccgworld/

Image

ps: si des francais passe par la et veulent faire des parties pour
beta testé ca serrait plus simple pour moi (marre de l'anglais).

I've found a bug in the theme file. In order to use full images, you've written the card layout this way:

300;433 // Card Size
1;1 // Head Size
1;1;2;2 // Card Icon
1;1;2;2 // Name and Mana cost
1;1;300;433 // Image
1;1;2;2 // Type and CardSet
1;1;2;2 // Text Box
1;1;2;2 // P/T
1;1;2;2 // Artist
1;1;2;2 // Copyright

But in this way you've overlapped the "boxes". I've noticed during the development of my NetRunner game pack that this causes MWS to often crash when you swap themes. To avoid that, use this layout instead:

300;433 // Card Size
288;28 // Head Size
1;0;1;1 // Card Icon
3;0;1;1 // Name and Mana cost
0;0;300;433 // Image
5;0;1;1 // Type and CardSet
7;0;1;1 // Text Box
9;0;1;1 // P/T
11;0;1;1 // Artist
13;0;1;1 // Copyright

Usually, we should be able to use full images by simply renaming all images from cardname.jpg to cardname.full.jpg, but there is a bug in the set compiler which removes the .full part of the name..
And since custom sets cannot "see" external images, but only those compiled withing them, the only way to use full images is using the above layout. However, with 0.95 coming out soon (I hope at least!) all these problems should be solved.

EDIT:
There is a problem: I can not compile your base since there is more that just one set in the the base, and it's not possible to compile a set with more than one. There are ways around it, like splitting the base into multiple bases (one for each set), compile them, and then put all the compiled cards in a new masterbase. However it is quite complicated, if you are not hasty I suggest you to wait a month and see v0.95, since after all the work you are gonna do now will need to be redone after 0.95, because it is going to be deeply different from the current version.

hello malhavoc,

i try your code for theme and i dont see big difference.
but i know your are an MWS guru and i go to add your code
in my next upload.
for the card i upload this for you:
http://membres.lycos.fr/ccgworld/LOTR_spoiler.zip
(you must use a download tool like flashget to download this file)

its all the spoiler list i have did for LOTR in magic format .

else do you try my program to download picure ?
it the first time i compile python code and i want to know
if it work on other pc than mine.

for the 0.95 im waiting hard for it and for its xml database format.

for the LOTR i spend many time because all card text are avaibale,
but i think i will do other ccg game with only the cardname and extension.
with only card name and extension and very good quality scan its
posssible to integrat other ccg game in MWS very fast.
the only bad point its you cant do search in card text with keywords,
but its like the real life.
maybe next game will be decipher game because they are some very good quality scan (maybe wars and .hack).

As I've said, overlapping boxes often lead to MWS crash. Strange you didn't experienced that... but it's better to avoid it anyway, so that nobody has any problem.

Works great! It has even found my proxy on its own. However, I had to work on it a bit, since it didn't run properly the first times, and I discovered I had to create the set folders on my own. Seems like it has problem creating directories when they do not exist. But once I've made them, it works great! BTW, where he downloads the images from?

You can always make a first release without card text, and then add card text later. Decks made by players will run properly as long as you don't change cards' names.

Sorry, didn't understand you english here... are you talking about some other particular game whose name I don't know of?

BTW, where did you found all those good images? The LOTR ones are really really good!

i simply download the picture in the decipher site and rename it.
you can edit the file "card.dat" into "/data/card.dat" in the directory
of the program, you will see the url

decipher site is the official LOTR CCG site.
(decipher = "wizzard of the coast" for magic)

but i think the best way to download the pics is the
direct download like in the MWSData site.

for NetRunner do you ask the webmaster off the site mwsdata ?

Not exactly

I grabbed the scans (just in time!) from CCGWorkshop before NetRunner was removed by them from their game list due to a WotC cease&desist act.

I was the one asking DaDemon to host my NetRunner pack on MWSDATA

Ok, man. Bless and pray me 8)

I've decided to dedicate a couple of hours to this game (which I don't even know... is there a rulebook somewhere?). I've splitted the main base (11 bases now, one for each set), compiled each base with the pictures, and made a single, new, mastebase with the compiled cards in it (NOT the cards from the single-set bases, but the COMPILED cards, it's different). This way, you won't need to change the masterbase name each time. You just need to load the base with the compiled cards when you want to build a deck, but you can just leave the magic masterbase when you want to play. I'm gonna upload the files (about 70 MB) to a temporary link and PM it to you soon.

P.S.
Your old decks won't work with this new base, you need to made them again

P.P.S.
I've noticed a couple of errors: in the SG set, the file •Troll of Gorgoroth, Abomination of Sauron.jpg is downloaded with the wrong name "•Troll of Gorgoroth,.jpg"; I had to rename it manually. Another problem (or at least I think it's a problem... since I don't know the game I cannot be sure): some cards (particularly "Sites") are missing the "casting cost" even if there seems to be one on the card instead. Just click on the casting cost column to arrange them in order and you'll find the cards I'm talking about.

thank you Malhavoc

fix: the troll.
fix: the "-" character who dont appears like he does.
fix: the "Hornburg Wall" site who have invert the number and shadow number

all the fix will be update in the next release when i've test play (because
i did the LOTR-MWS game but i never play it in MWS).

for the site with no "mana cost" its ok, its because its site number 1 with
no "shadow number".

an important thing is the "Artist" columns because all the information:
- signet (for free peoples)
- shadow number (for minnion)
- site number (for site)
are in the "artist" entry (no place anywhere)

Where, for example?

Are you saying that this character "–" is different from this "-"? Oh, yes, that's right!

I was just curious if there is any other downloadable area for this. I have recently gotten my friends interested in playing this again, but cannot find ANYWHERE a base or something for LOTR, they are all not working.

Please help!! Thanks
